Ant-Man (2014)
Okay I am containing my fanboy and nerd urge to gush right now ‘cause this is fucking 100% legit and it is gonna be directed by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, Scott Pilgrim vs The World).
Stan Lee, Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish (Attack the Block) has been working on the script since 2010 (2007 actually but it was scrapped) to fit the Avengers timeline and according to the producer Kevin Feige, Henry Pym was the person Dr. Erik Selvig was reffering to when he said he will “e-mail a friend who has a previous experience with S.H.I.E.L.D.” but the name was cut out of the scene.
As for the 1 million dollar question of who’s the lucky actor that will wear the Henry Pym’s Pym Particle Gas-powered suit, Marvel studios is currently discussing if they should choose Josh Holloway (Lost) or Adrien Brody (The Pianist). Janet Van Dyne will also be in the movie and Morena Baccarin, who originally auditioned for the role of Maria Hill, might appear as The Wasp.
Though the rumored main villain of the movie is Ultron, Ulysses Klaw will make an appearance and the rumored actors that will play him are Gary Oldman, Tony Shalhoub, and Burt Reynolds.
Now how will this be connected to the Avengers? Well obviously in the end Nick Fury will appear and he will invite Hank and Jan to the team. Scott Lang and Eric O’Grady (The 2nd and 3rd Ant-Man, respectively) are rumored to also appear in the movie. There is also a lot of rumors that the Black Panther will appear in the post credits scene, which will be a real movie btw but that’s for another post.
I know I shouldn’t be throwing this in here but Phil Coulson might comeback in the movie as The Vision.
Marvel has never failed us before (Errrr.. Specifically in the Avengers department anyways.) and I’m sure that this upcoming Ant-Man movie by Edgar Wright will give our beloved tiniest/biggest comic book character the big screen adaptation he deserves.
